About Us

While studying abroad in Auckland, New Zealand in 2001 I caught the travel bug. I became instantly fascinated with seeing the world and finding ways to get the most out of my travel budget.

Before long, family and friends were asking me to help them find the same deals that I was finding for myself. Whether they wanted to go to the Mediterranean for a summer getaway, or just do a weekend trip out to Long Island wine country, I was usually able to find them an ideal trip at a surprisingly affordable price.

Checking out travel deals became an obsession for me. I spent every free minute I had combing the internet for specials and deals that would let me use my weekends to see new places. I'd often send an email blast to friends asking things like "who wants to go skiing in Alaska this weekend for $300." I never had an unsatisfied "customer" among friends and family members who joined me on my spontaneous gallivanting travels.

After working at an investment bank for 2 years, a hedge fund in Europe for 3 years, then attending business school at NYU Stern, I realized that I needed to make traveling into my career. So, I am sharing my experiences here in hopes of encouraging people to plan appropriately to save money and travel more often!
