Jet-A-Thon kick-off

by david daly on 09/07/10

Somehow it was easier getting out of bed at 4:45 this morning to make my way to JFK than it usually is at 7:30am to go to work.  I made it to jetBlue's terminal 5 at 6:10am and breezed through security.  No sign of other "All-You-Can-Jet" passengers- I think we should all have t-shirts or something.

Flight to nantucket was beautiful- had a view of Martha's Vineyard and then we passed over 'sconset to land at ACK.  During the 35 min flight I took advantage of the free snacks and ate some Blue Potato chips and oj and then snagged a bottle of water and some cookies for the beach :)  I was on the beach at 8:10am, and not the first person there!  I actually got a lot of work done for the first 2 hours thanks to my Verizon wireless connection- booked some hotels for my upcoming Jet-A-Thon trips (using an amazing Radisson discount code- thanks Josh!!)

By 11am it was hot enough to hit the water at Surfside.  I took a dunk and then ate the PB&J sandwich I packed for my economical day at the beach followed by the jetBlue cookies I was hoarding.

By 1:15pm I was back at the nantucket airport ready for my flight home- another beautiful flight with great views of the islands and Connecticut coast.  Even passed over Southold on Long Island!  On this flight I enjoyed a diet Coke and the Plantain Chips and animal crackers (thats 7 free snacks so far if anyone is counting) and caught a marathon of the Rachel Zoe project.

Thaks to everyone who sent there well wishes for the Jet-A-Thon kickoff and please be sure to make a donation to BBBS of NYC!  They should have the ATC as a selection in the dropdown this week so we can track your generosity!

Any guesses where I will be off to tomorrow??

Tomorrow!

So it looks like I will need to catch the 5:26am train from Penn station in order to catch my inaugural flight for the All-You-Can-Jet pass.  Luckily hurricane Earl did not demolish my destination and it looks like its going to be a pretty nice beach day!

Hurricane won't stop me!

Here is another hint for my kickoff destination:  It is directly in the path of Hurricane Earl!  Hopefully this storm isn't going to cause any serious problems.  I hear LIRR has already canceled service to the north and south forks of Long Island tomorrow.  If you are heading to the hamptons you should probably delay you trip until Saturday.

Jet-A-Thon kicks off in 5 days!!

7 Days to go!!

by david daly on 08/31/10

Looking forward to kicking off the All-You-Can-Jet pass next Tuesday!  Any guesses where I will be going?  Here is a hint: It's the only place in its state that is a village, a town, and a county all with the same name.

Please help us reach our goal of $2,000 for BBBS of NYC and make a donation- every little bit goes a long way!  I won't stop jetting until we reach our goal!
